WOLFE  is an Indigenous based program that strives to solely focus on family preservation and reunification while parents/guardians are working towards maintaining sobriety. WOLFE team facilitates intentional work with each family including group/individual therapeutic sessions, module-based classwork, cultural ceremonies and teachings.  Our family-based wellness program empowers guardians to focus on their rehabilitation from substance abuse while gaining knowledge in parenting, relationships and life skills all while preserving/reunifying the family unit. Guardians and their children will live together in their own unit, separate from other families within the WOLFE facility for a total of 90 days during which they will complete the family wellness program to acquire the ability to foster a safe and stable living environment in their own homes. WOLFE is currently locating a multi-family facility in the Edmonton/surrounding area that is able to accommodate and house at least four to six families during their completion of the 90-day program.

Several other programs will run alongside rehabilitation from substance use. Guardians will complete course work in a classroom setting on healthy relationships, domestic violence and traditional parenting. Each course will contain modules to be completed in a cultural setting focusing on healthy relationships, domestic violence and traditional parenting that will include an expectation for review during individual time. Families will work towards developing life skills such as meal planning, budgeting, routine and structure. School aged children will attend school in the community, while WOLFE will offer on-site child care services for younger children facilitated by qualified trauma-informed child and youth care workers.

Upon completion of the initial program, the team will support the guardians with increasing stability by connecting them to the appropriate resources and

enhancing employment competency such as resume building, job search and interview skills. The team will submit a discharge report to referring professional services that will include goals completed and future recommendations to best support the family in being successful in their community. A follow-up with each family will be completed at the one month, and three month mark by the WOLFE team.
